Please note, Cart Upsells only work with stores that make use of the cart page. If your store is using a side drawer cart and never hits an actual cart page before checkout, you will miss this upsell opportunity. Make sure your theme takes customers to the cart page in order to display the upsell opportunities.
Enable Cart Page
To change the cart type of your theme, go to “Customize theme” in your Shopify dashboard under sales channel “Online Store”. Under “Cart Page” (or a similar section), change “Cart type” to “Page”. Drawer, slide out, or modal cart types are incompatible with option pricing.
By default, SellUp attempts to load the Cart Upsells on your cart page in default locations.
Depending on what theme you are using, this works well in some cases and not so well in others. You can always position the Cart Upsells irregardless and how you do this depends on your theme type: OS2.0 or Vintage.
If you have an OS2.0 Theme, you can position Cart Upsells using the App Block.
First, make sure the App Embed is enabled. Open up your theme Customizer (Shopify Admin > Sales Channels > Online Store > Themes):
Next, simply navigate to your Cart Page in the Customizer and add the App block. After positioning, click save.
If your theme is not OS2.0 and you can’t position the App Block, you will need to place the Cart Upsell DIV tag in your themes cart section. Depending on how your theme is structure, this is usually something like Cart.liquid or main-cart.liquid etc.
All themes have a cart.liquid and depending on how your theme is built, may also have cart snippets and cart sections.
The following code needs to be inserted into your themes relevant cart section to show the Cart Upsells:
