Add-On & Upsell Customized Products

SellUp's new feature allows you to offer customized products as add-ons, cross-sells, or upsells directly on your Shopify store. 


Whether you're selling products that require specific configurations or integrating with third-party customization apps, this feature makes it easy to redirect customers to a product page where they can personalize their purchase.


Please note, SellUp does not control the customizations of a product. These must come from an app that supports creating customisations for products.

SellUp simply allows you to surface these customizable products on other products in the form of Add On Products, Cross-sells, upsells etc.


Enabling the Customize Option

Navigate to an existing On Page Offer or create a new one. 

  1. Enable Customize Checkbox:

    • Locate the checkbox labeled "Redirect to Product" on the offer setup page.
    • Check this box to activate the customization redirect.
  2. Redirect to Product Page: Once the checkbox is enabled, customers who click on the offer button will be redirected to the selected product’s page. Here, they can use any available customization options, whether through Shopify’s built-in features or third-party apps.



Customizing the Button Label

The button that customers click to access the customized product is labeled "Customize" by default. However, you can change this label to better fit your store's branding or the specific offer you're creating.

  1. Navigate to Language Settings: In SellUp, go to Settings > Display Settings > Language (tab)
  2. Edit the Redirect to Product Label: Replace the default "Customize" label with your preferred text, such as "Personalize Now," "Customize Your Product," or any other call-to-action that suits your offer.
  3. Save Changes: Ensure to save your changes to apply the new button label.



Use Cases for Add-Ons, Cross-Sells, and Upsells

This feature is versatile and can be used in various scenarios:

  • Add-Ons: Offer additional products that can be customized, such as engraving on jewelry, personalized messages on gift items, or monogramming services.
  • Cross-Sells: Suggest related products that can be customized, like adding custom cushions to a sofa purchase or offering personalized cases with a phone.
  • Upsells: Encourage customers to upgrade to a premium version of a product by allowing them to customize their purchase, such as adding premium materials or finishes.
