How to Show Estimated Delivery Dates at Checkout in Shopify

Displaying an estimated delivery date at checkout helps set clear expectations for your customers and can reduce post-purchase support tickets. This guide walks you through adding the Checkout Delivery ETA block to your Shopify checkout.

Before you begin: This requires the Delivery Timer app to be installed on your store, and checkout editing is available on Shopify Plus plans (or for the standard "Checkout and customer accounts" page on supported themes).

Step 1: Open Theme Customization

  1. Log in to your Shopify Admin dashboard.
  2. In the left-hand navigation menu, click Online Store. This will open the Themes page.
  3. Find your current live theme and click the Customize button next to it.

Step 2: Navigate to the Checkout Editor

  1. At the top-center of the Theme Editor, click the page dropdown menu (which defaults to Home page).
  2. Scroll down the dropdown and select Checkout (or Checkout and customer accounts).

Step 3: Add the Delivery Timer App Block

  1. Once the Checkout editor preview loads, look at the left-hand sidebar.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the section options and click Add block (or the search/plus icon).
  3. Under the available app blocks, find the delv.deliverytimer app and select Checkout Delivery ETA.

Step 4: Position and Save

  1. In the left-hand sidebar, click and drag the Checkout Delivery ETA block to your preferred location in the checkout layout (such as directly below the Shipping method section).
  2. Confirm the block appears correctly in the live preview on the right.
  3. Click Save in the top-right corner to publish your changes.

Your estimated delivery dates will now appear to customers during checkout. If the block doesn't render in the live preview, refresh the editor or confirm the Delivery Timer app is active in your Apps list.
